Trees and shade can make streets cooler, permeable ground can help rain enter the soil, and safe walking routes can reduce short car trips. Small design choices can make a neighbourhood more comfortable without changing its whole identity. People help shape their surroundings through daily behaviour and local participation. Walking carefully, respecting shared spaces, keeping entrances clear, limiting unnecessary noise, reporting hazards, caring for plants, and joining local clean-ups all contribute.
