Labor law in Uganda

Labor law in Uganda governs employment contracts, working time, pay, leave, workplace safety, worker representation, disputes and termination. The Employment Act applies broadly to employees working under a contract of service, but enforcement is fragmented and informal employment remains widespread. The Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development, Labour Officers and the Industrial Court handle different parts of the system.
