Life stages in Bangladesh

Life stages in Bangladesh are shaped by age, legal status, education, work, family responsibilities and access to support, but no single age band determines every service. The Children Act 2013 treats people under 18 as children, while majority generally begins at 18 and the National Youth Policy covers ages 18–35. The Old Age Allowance uses separate thresholds—at least 65 for men and 62 for women—so education, work, marriage, care and income support must be checked under the rule for the specific transition.
