Labor market in Finland

The labor market, called työmarkkinat, is the system through which people offer skills and employers seek workers. It includes private companies, public services, nonprofit organizations, and self-employment. Finland has a tradition of organized labor-market cooperation. Trade unions and employer organizations negotiate collective agreements for many industries alongside rules established by legislation. Demand for workers differs by occupation and place. The Helsinki region has a large and varied market, while other cities and rural areas may offer different industries, costs, and commuting patterns. Finland’s national languages are Finnish and Swedish, and English is important in some international sectors. Language requirements depend on safety, customers, regulation, workplace culture, and the available team.
