Nature in Bhutan

Bhutan’s nature ranges from subtropical lowlands through inner mountain valleys to alpine highlands and glaciers. Forests cover about 70 percent of the country; more than 52 percent of its land area, including biological corridors, is protected. Access to nature, its use and research depend on protected-area zones, permits and management plans.
