Study in Botswana

Tertiary study in Botswana takes place through public and private universities, colleges and equivalent institutions and can lead to recognised academic or tertiary qualifications. The Botswana Qualifications Authority (BQA) register and the programme’s NCQF registration or accreditation show whether a provider and its specific programme are recognised; provider accreditation alone does not validate every programme. Admission, fees and study format vary by institution, with full-time, part-time and distance options including Botswana Open University’s online programmes. Government sponsorship through DTEF is separate from admission and depends on citizenship, employment status, age, results, programme priorities and available places.
