Apprenticeship and vocational training in Burkina Faso

Vocational education in Burkina Faso includes formal, non-formal and informal pathways to a first vocational qualification. The system of technical and vocational education and training (EFTP) combines, depending on the pathway, classroom instruction, practical work in a company or learning in a workshop. Qualifications such as the vocational aptitude certificate (CAP), vocational studies certificate (BEP), vocational baccalaureate (BAC Pro), professional qualification certificate (CQP), basic professional qualification certificate (BQP), professional technician certificate (BPT) and higher professional technician certificate (BPTS) have different entry requirements and occupational significance. There is no uniform nationwide dual structure, automatic job placement or standardized fee schedule.
