Religion in Burundi

Burundi is religiously pluralistic. According to the 2008 census, 62% of the population was Catholic, 21.6% Protestant, 2.5% Muslim and 3.7% adherent to indigenous religions; these figures are outdated. Religion shapes worship services, prayers, holidays, schools, life rituals, legal recognition and interfaith dialogue in Burundi.
