Traditions in Cambodia

Cambodian traditions are inherited and socially shared practices, symbols and forms of expression linked to the annual cycle, family life, religion, clothing, music, crafts and regional communities. Khmer New Year, Bon Pchum Ben, Bon Om Touk and Ok Om Bok combine family, community, artistic and ritual practices, with dates often following lunar and solar calendars. Families, villages, pagodas, elders, masters and apprentices carry many traditions, while the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts supports their safeguarding.
