Media in Chad

Chad’s media landscape includes public and private newspapers, radio stations, television channels, online outlets and social-media platforms. Radio remains the most widely relevant channel, while internet access is limited and strongly mobile: about 13% of the population used the internet in 2024, and 5G was not available. HAMA regulates audiovisual, print and online media, but journalists and media companies also face financial, legal and security risks.
