The employer is the legal party to the employment relationship. In China, an employing unit may be a company, state-owned enterprise, public institution, social organization, or another organization able to hire workers. The employer should be identified by its official registered name. A trading name, mobile application, office sign, group name, or famous brand may not identify the entity responsible for the employee. Employers recruit workers, agree employment terms, assign duties, organize the workplace, and pay compensation. They also maintain employment records and carry responsibilities connected with safety, working conditions, and lawful management. A written labor contract helps define the relationship. Employers should provide terms that match the real role rather than using vague duties or an unrelated entity merely for convenience. Payroll responsibilities commonly include calculating wages, applying proper deductions, issuing useful payment information, and handling relevant registrations. Clear records protect both the organization and the worker. Internal rules can cover attendance, leave, information security, performance, discipline, and workplace conduct. Rules work best when they are lawful, understandable, communicated to employees, and applied consistently. Employers may use recruitment agencies, labor dispatch providers, outsourcing companies, or platforms. These arrangements do not remove the need to identify which entity employs the worker and which entity controls each part of the work. Foreign employees create additional responsibilities. The employer and worker must ensure that the actual position and working arrangement fit the applicable authorization rather than treating immigration documents as a formality. A responsible employer creates a clear joining process, provides safe tools and instructions, answers payroll questions, and documents major decisions. This reduces disputes and makes the workplace easier to trust.
