Taxes in North Korea

North Korea officially abolished its general domestic taxation system in 1974. State and cooperative organizations instead make legally defined state-budget payments, while market participants may face market charges and other local burdens. Foreign-invested businesses and foreign individuals remain subject to a separate formal tax system with registration, filing and payment duties.
