General health screening is not part of arrival for everyone; it applies to certain non-EEA residence-permit cases. A designated neighbourhood school generally has priority, but capacity, rules and fees vary by municipality. Apply for social assistance to the municipality where you hold legal domicile, because local conditions differ. The Directorate of Labour and its Multicultural Information Centre offer free, confidential counselling through service centres nationwide. Unemployment registration and a U1 certificate matter only when the person's previous EEA or UK insurance or employment history makes them relevant. Keep identity, status, insurance and family documents, submit certificates required to activate rights and check municipal services after the address record is updated.
