Employment in Indonesia is commonly understood as hubungan kerja, or a work relationship. Its basic elements are work performed by a person, pay from an employer, and instructions connected to the job. An employment agreement is called a perjanjian kerja. It normally identifies the parties, position, workplace, pay, duties, working conditions, and whether the relationship has a fixed or open duration. PKWTT is the common abbreviation for employment without a fixed end date. It is used for an ongoing work relationship and may include an initial probation arrangement where properly agreed.
