Elections in Iran

Elections in Iran allow citizens to choose the president, members of the Majles, members of the Assembly of Experts, and local councils. Candidate eligibility and the electoral process are supervised by state institutions, especially the Guardian Council for major national elections. Voting therefore matters, but it takes place within defined political limits.
