Elections

Kiribati holds parliamentary elections for the Maneaba ni Maungatabu and a separate election for the Beretitenti, the president who is also head of government. Citizens aged 18 or older can vote if they are registered and resident in the relevant electoral district. Parliamentary voting uses a modified two-round system, while the president is elected directly from candidates nominated by Parliament.
