Banks in Laos

Banking in Laos is supervised by the Bank of the Lao P.D.R. (BOL) and includes state-owned, specialized, joint-state, private, subsidiary and foreign-branch banks. Banks provide current, savings and fixed-deposit accounts, cash access, cards, transfers, LAOQR payments and digital services, but products, fees, currencies and access conditions vary by bank. Foreign customers generally need identity, residence or work documents, and banks apply customer and transaction checks before opening or continuing services.
