Elections in Liberia

National elections in Liberia choose the President and Vice-President on a joint ticket, members of the Senate and House of Representatives, and, in some cases, local chiefs or referendum outcomes. The President and Vice-President serve six-year terms, senators serve nine years, and representatives serve six years. Liberian citizens aged 18 or older may vote after registering in one constituency, subject to legal exclusions. The National Elections Commission (NEC) manages registration, polling, counting and result declarations.
