Health in Mongolia

Health care in Mongolia combines public, private and mixed-ownership providers. Primary care usually begins at a Family Health Center in urban areas or a soum or village health center in rural areas, with referral to hospitals when specialist treatment is needed. Emergency care is available through the nearest facility, and ambulance services use 103. Prevention includes vaccination, screening and monitoring of major risks such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, tuberculosis, tobacco use and air pollution.
