Consumer protection in Myanmar

Consumer protection in Myanmar gives private consumers rights when they buy goods, use services or accept digital offers from businesses and professional providers. The Consumer Protection Law, Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Law No. 9/2019, covers safety, accurate information, receipts, complaints, remedies and compensation. Complaints can generally be submitted through the Department of Consumer Affairs, known as DOCA, while telecom and other specialized matters may be referred to the responsible sector authority.
