School in Namibia

Basic education in Namibia is formal schooling from pre-primary through secondary education, including special education. It covers Pre-Primary, Junior Primary (Grades 1–3), Senior Primary (Grades 4–7), Junior Secondary (Grades 8–9) and Senior Secondary (Grades 10–12). Attendance is compulsory from the first school day of the year in which a child turns six until the last school day of the year in which the child turns 18, completes secondary school or is assessed as ready to leave. State schools do not charge tuition, but private-school fees, hostel charges, uniforms, transport and optional services can vary.
