Upskilling in Papua New Guinea

Upskilling in Papua New Guinea has no single national system or documented general legal entitlement. People develop skills through formal post-school programs, National Training Council (NTC) and employer training, flexible education, adult literacy, short courses, community programs and self-directed learning. Formal qualifications follow registered and accredited providers and the Papua New Guinea Qualifications Framework (PNGNQF), while many short courses issue only certificates, badges or participation records. Access, cost and recognition vary with the provider, location, connectivity, assessment and purpose of the training.
