Elections in Papua New Guinea

Elections in Papua New Guinea choose members of the National Parliament, Local-level Government (LLG) representatives and, separately, representatives in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville. The National General Election (NGE) uses single-member electorates and Limited Preferential Voting (LPV), where voters rank up to three candidates. Eligible voters are PNG citizens aged 18 or older whose names appear on the relevant ward roll. The Papua New Guinea Electoral Commission (PNGEC) administers national and LLG elections, while Bougainville has its own electoral authority.
