A normal shopping routine is to compare quality and price, check the label and condition, pay, and keep the receipt for goods that may need to be returned. Serbian labels often use Cyrillic, Latin script, or both. Markets can offer fresh local food and personal contact, while supermarkets offer predictable packaging, longer opening patterns, and many household products. Neither option is always cheaper or better. Begin by learning the shops near your home, the basic Serbian words for quantity and food, and the payment method you prefer.
