Religion in Seychelles

Religion in Seychelles is a plural and constitutionally protected part of public and private life, with Roman Catholic Christianity as the largest tradition. A 2022 census summary places Roman Catholics at about 70%, Anglicans and Hindus at about 6% each, and Muslims at about 3%, alongside smaller Christian, Bahá’í and Buddhist communities. Religious groups provide worship, rites, education, social support and community activities, while the Civil Status Office remains responsible for the legal registration of births, marriages and deaths.
