School in Zambia

School in Zambia covers formal education from early childhood through primary and secondary school, together with recognized alternative and non-formal pathways for some learners. The system is changing from the legacy sequence of early childhood education, Grades 1–7 and secondary Grades 8–12 toward newer 3-6-6-3 and 4-6-4-2 frameworks, so Grade and Form labels still appear together. Zambia’s Free Education Policy removes user and examination fees in public and grant-aided schools, although uniforms, books, transport and private-school charges can remain. Admission, curriculum, examinations, support and school standards involve the Ministry of Education, local education offices, school management and the Examinations Council of Zambia.
