Language in Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe's Constitution recognises 16 official languages, including English, Shona, Ndebele, other indigenous languages and sign language. English, Shona and Ndebele have the widest national practical relevance, while regional languages shape local access, culture and participation. The legal framework supports equitable treatment and development of all 16 languages, but services and translations are implemented unevenly.
