Health in Cambodia

Health care in Cambodia combines public facilities coordinated by the Ministry of Health (MoH) with private clinics and hospitals. Routine care usually starts at a Health Center and moves through referral hospitals for diagnostics, surgery, inpatient treatment or advanced specialist care. Vaccination, maternal and child care, screening, infectious-disease prevention and chronic-disease services are available, but access, quality, staffing and medicine supply vary by province and provider. Payment depends on the facility and protection scheme: public fees and out-of-pocket costs remain possible, while the Health Equity Fund (HEF) and National Social Security Fund (NSSF) cover defined groups and services.
