Languages in Haiti

Haiti has two official languages, Kreyòl Ayisyen, commonly called Haitian Creole, and French. Kreyòl is the shared language of family, community, daily work and most everyday communication, while French remains central to formal education, administration, higher education and international mobility. Language learning combines school, university, adult-literacy, private-course, digital and informal options, with access and quality varying by institution and region. English and Spanish have secondary roles linked to education, work and mobility.
