Religion in Libya

Religion in Libya is shaped mainly by Sunni Islam, with Ibadi communities especially among Amazigh populations and smaller Christian, Hindu, Baha'i, Buddhist and Ahmadi communities. Religious institutions and access differ between western and eastern Libya because rival authorities administer parts of the country. Religious practice affects worship, education, public holidays, family matters and the legal position of non-Muslims.
