Languages in Lithuania

Lithuanian is the state language of Lithuania. It is called lietuvių kalba and belongs to the Baltic language group. Lithuanian is used in government, most schools, public information, local services, and many workplaces. Knowing it supports independence and participation in society. The language uses the Latin alphabet with additional letters and marks. Pronunciation, word endings, grammatical cases, and stress can be challenging, so steady practice is more useful than trying to learn every rule at once. Lithuania is also multilingual.
