Housing in Namibia

Housing in Namibia includes formal houses and apartments, traditional dwellings, backyard units, informal settlements and communal homes. Access may involve private renting or buying, the National Housing Enterprise, local authorities, communal land institutions or incremental settlement programmes. The usable right to occupy a home can be a lease, title deed, certificate of occupancy or recognised customary land right, and these forms do not provide the same security or ownership.
