Housing in Nicaragua

Housing in Nicaragua includes renting, buying, using and protecting a private home, apartment, lot or comparable dwelling. Most homes are houses: the 2024 INIDE ECH recorded 99.2% as casas, while 0.3% were improvised dwellings and 0.1% were ranchos or chozas. Rental access is usually arranged with a private landlord or intermediary, while a purchase requires legal, municipal, cadastral, tax and property-register checks.
