Art in São Tomé and Príncipe

São Tomé and Príncipe has a fragmented art sector rather than one unified market or professional system. Public cultural responsibilities are distributed among the Ministério da Educação, Cultura, Ciência e Ensino Superior (MECCES), its Direção-Geral da Cultura, the Museu Nacional, Arquivo Histórico, Biblioteca Nacional and Conselho Nacional da Cultura.
