Study in North Korea

Tertiary study in North Korea takes place at a university, college or functionally equivalent institution and leads toward a recognised academic or tertiary qualification. Access normally follows 12 years of general compulsory education, an entrance examination and centrally managed academic selection. Studies combine political ideology, general subjects, specialist foundations, practical work and research. National planning also influences graduates’ later work placement.
